Use Chikka’s instant messaging system to send free sms worldwide. You need to download their software but then you can send and receive sms online.
Also, send and receive email from mobile phones, plus many other services.
Chikka’s mobile messaging service works with mobile services around the world. Particularly those in Guam, India, Japan, Philippines, Saipan, Thailand and USA (United States) and now the UK too.
Their software works on all operating systems, although if you are a Mac, Linux, Sun or Solaris user you will need to download their ‘Chikka Javalite’ software.

Chikka is not able to send sms to airtel(mumbai) nos starting from 9867 …. If you try to send sms to 9867.. the reply comes that we are upgrading our services plz bear with us . it is also not able to send sms to reliance and mtnl 8 digit nos .

chikka software does not support airtel mumbai users starting from numbers 989218… and the nos starting from 986730… if you try to send to the above nos the reply comes that we are upgrading our services . plz bear with us .

If i try to send 320 characters the message reaches to the receipient only 160 characters and then the half 160 characters . It does not fully supports 320 characters .

I am a Vodafone user, which Chikka claims to support.. and when I send a msg to 58888 to register, i get a reply back saying that mobile phone provider not supported at this time! WTF!

chikka is unreliable.rcipient does not receive any text at all. this site is good years ago but not anymore.

i’m from canada, most of the time chikka does not receive txt nor send text to the mobile phone, even if you send it several times. i would like to call the attention of the people who manage chikka to please improve the service that they provide because it’s frustrating and costly, when the one in mobile phone replies again and again and the one in the computer (chikka) does not receive the message or the chikka user text and the cellphone user does not receive the message chases are he/she will text again the same message and cost again and that sucks.
